I thoroughly enjoyed studying the variety of different approaches to the drawings in this book, as well as the plethora of mediums used.
This is a good book for intermediate anatomy learners and can be useful for advanced artists too. (Might be a little confusing for beginners IMO)

Excellent book to rekindle and remember drawing techniques. Also good for beginners and fans of drawing. This book is dedicated to pencil drawing as the basis for other work, emphasizing on sketching.

Complete Guide to Life Drawing is an accessible guide to figure drawing. It was authored by Gottfried Bammes who had also published many other books, in German.

This is the English translated edition of the German Menschen zeichnen: Grundlagen zum Aktzeichnen. It's a huge book and has 312 pages.

The book adopts a structured approach, starting with the study of proportion, body at rest and motion, followed by a more detailed look at the different parts of the body.

The book adopts a structured approach, starting with the study of proportion, body at rest and motion, followed by a more detailed look at the different parts of the body.

The many wonderful illustrated examples are supplemented by descriptive and insightful commentary. The pictures are from Gottfried Bammes and other Old Masters. There are also several helpful exercises to follow along. While it's not strictly an anatomy reference book, there are still a lot of detailed drawings of the muscles, all properly labelled.

It's a great book for beginners into figure drawing.

Brilliant book, the best of its kind I have ever come across. NOT a dry anatomy book at all. Beautifully illustrated and with insets from the greats. Highly recommended. I've been copying out selected drawings at random but there are also programmatic exercises. Herr Professor's own works strike me as a little too graphic and illustrative but that may be on purpose. A very well organized, detailed and structured guide to drawing the human anatomy. At this point it's way above my skill level, but this would be an excellent way to fill sketchbooks with figure studies for a serious student.
